Black sceen upon start

A long time ago I downloaded Terraria off GOG.com and have not had problems (not counting windows vista incompatibility from when I used that) until recently.

When I launch the game, I can glimpse the title screen for a fraction of a second before it turns black, however I can still hear the title screen music and the clicks form hovering over the buttons with my mouse.

A temporary solution appears to be using Alt+Enter to force the game into windowed borderless (I prefer borderless...

Friends game crashing when alt tabbing

Got back into terraria again and my friends game keeps crashing whenever he alt-tabs out of the game, tried a number of things but none worked. His game is fine as long as he doesn't alt tab. Couldn't find any solutions online so hoping to get one here.

Can't play multiplayer

Hello! I just bought this game 2 days ago and i can't connect to some of my friends. Like i can connect to some but not all of my friends. How do i fix that? I get stuck on receiving tile data 6% and when i host and they try to join, they get stuck on receiving tile data 13%

Strange FPS Properties

Because of these problems I can't play multiplayer without syncing issues/lag but I have been getting very strange problems with my FPS in Terraria
SPECS:

Intel i5-7400 CPU 3.00GHz
8gb of ram
GeForce GT 730 with 2 GB of dedicated ram

Can no longer connect with a friend

We played Saturday for a very long time, but since Sunday I can't join worlds he hosts and he can't join mine. Just infinite connecting. We can play together on another friend's world, but we put a lot of work into the one we played together and would like to continue. Help!

Steam & Terraria quitting issue.

Basically : quit terraria => steam says I'm playing terraria
task manager & process explorer see no terraria executable launched
notes:
-this happens with BOTH tmodloader & vanilla terraria itself
-this doesn't happen in any other game
-it's a recent issue that didn't happen before.
-I'm pretty sure it matches some steam update, still don't see why it happens only with terraria though

I have been trying to use search engines for this issue, but so far have had trouble finding a good set of...

Black Screen on startup

Right after I launch terraria from steam the terraria window turns completely black. I can still see my mouse if I go out of the terraria window but I cant see it if its inside. Ive tried verifying game files multiple times. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Game keeps minimizing itself

I got a laptop wit ha tV hooked up as second screen. whenever i click outside the game it minimizes itself, Borderless windowed mode doesn't work like it should and the launch option "-popupwindow" doesn't work either. I have no ide what could cause this but it is rather annoying.

Super Laggy Underground while hosting and joining friends server

I have a
I7-7700k
Gtx 1070
16gb Ram
And the other stuff is on par with price point. I should not be getting 22fps underground only and it lags substantially i have well over 4000 hours and i just came back from playing other games. I never had this issue before and frame skip is off

16GB RAM, 2 8GB each

I have turned Frame skip on and off, reduced quality, and updated my drivers and Im still having this lagging problem, I have over 1k hours in this game over my accounts and I have never had this problem until now. Please help

I've been playing terraria on the same computer for about as long as terraria has been out on Steam. I've never noticed this issue in the past and it only just recently (last few weeks) has started happening to me.

After about 5-10 minutes of play, I notice an immediate drop in FPS and a slow down / stutter effect that is resulting along side this FPS drop. After running HW monitoring programs to try and get to the bottom of the issue, I think I've discovered why my FPS drops and why my...

Terraria Audio not working

Whenever I boot up Terraria there is never any audio. I've checked to see if Terraria is muted and have made sure volume is up. I re downloaded Terraria to find that it worked. But after I closed it and came back an hour later the sound was gone again. I hope this can be fixed. Thank you!

FPS Difference Problem

For some reason, my game runs at 60 FPS when I am at the title screen, character/world select screen, loading screen, etc., but when I actually spawn in a world, my FPS drops to 25-30 and goes up to 40 when I go into my inventory w/autopause enabled. How can I bring my FPS up to 60 when I'm in a world?
My Specs:
RAM: 4GB (3.47 usable)
OS: Windows 10 64bit
Processor: AND A6-5200 APU w/Radeon HD (2.00 GHz)
Any other specs I should include to help for a solution?

So I played terraria with my friend on a server and mostly when he is walking he is teleporting back (a little bit), I mean he is not smoothly moving. I dont know if that is the background or frame skip but I got frame skip on and background off. What could be the problem?

Hello, i can't run the game. It's not a problem with XNA framework or .NET. I just clicking on play button on steam. He starting... and then just close. Not any error display. But i reads sooo many articles about that, and still i get nothing. How i started.
1. I buy terraria from steam store.
2. I install it.
3. Steam while launching install xna framework. (but error display - Error about msvcr100.dll in SysWOW64)
4. I reinstall manualy xna framework and i deleted msvcr100.dll
5....

Can't run the Game!

Once it worked (on this PC and OS); now it fails to run, crashing at startup.

I'm running an up to date install of Arch Linux. I bought Terraria through GOG.

A couple months ago, which was my last time playing Terraria (the birth of my first child made time in short supply), the game ran just fine. Now it fails to run with the following output.

Hi, I've been playing Terraria with my buddy, and it's the second time we are starting from a new due to some kind of bugs or something that I'm not really sure... So basically on my side (host side) everything running just fine, no lag, no bugs, nothing unusual... But on my friends side, he comes across nearly always at one point or another a huge missing chunk in some random places of the world, they do load up a bit but then half of it doesn't and stays like that, and very soon that kicks...
